Thanks for this review! I really like how you lay out your ideas. I ordered it after reading, and hopefully it'll help me gain some core strength back... especially after I move on to something more advanced.

I have all the trouble in the world to find something that fits me just right. I recently came across a web site (www.icecreamwear.com) and took a chance and ordered a tunic online. I choose a beautiful fabric and entered in my measurements. Within a few days, I received my order, nice quality and craftmenship but a little too long for my taste. I contacted the company and they 'encouragement' me to send it back so that they could ajust it to fit perfectly. I was amazed at the level of customer service I received. I strongly recommend that you give them a try.

Title Nine also has some decent priced/good quality workout clothing. I discovered them through a woman who came into class. Love Lululemon. I have a pair of pants that I bought like 5 years ago and they are just now giving out -- and that is only because I wore them when I was pregnant to teach. :)

I like the DVD research that you have done for us. At Kore Pilates in La Jolla CA we often have new clients who come in and say, " Oh, I've only done the DVD pilates or Winsor tapes that's all, never done the apparatus Pilates". My reply is always the same. I let them know that it is great that they have tried the Tapes and DVDs and given it a shot at home. Pilates done right is by far the best conditioning and training workout for everybody. Mat Pilates is an important part of a complete Pilates session in our studio with Certified Classical Pilates experienced Instructors. For us as athletes it is unbeatable in our training for marathons and our sports conditioning- rock climbing, surfing, paddleboarding, kitesurfing swimming, golf and tropical jungle adventuring. From all our clients we hear that they feel stronger than ever and they are getting less injuries when doing activities outdoors. Other training programs often have a bad risk vrs benefit balance and we see that weights and bootcamp type efforts usually get people hurt more often than they get in shape after a certain age of about - 18 - 22 ?

Well, I agree and disagree with some things you said. Pilates may not be a miracle weight loss exercise and nothing really is, but when you tighten and strengthen your core, you will increase your metabolism which will equal weight loss. Yeah you may not burn 1000 calories during a Pilates session and you probably shouldn't eat a big mac and expect to lose weight but you will continue to burn calories after Pilates. Your metabolism will continue working throughout the day burning alot of calories. Your body doesn't just stop burning once you are done with the hour of Pilates. Pilates has changed my body! I used to take Adderall for my ADD and of course i lost tons of weight but i decided i dint not want to take Adderall anymore because it just isn't healthy to be taking legal cocaine and didn't want to do this for the rest of my life. Well, i gained like 10 to 12 pounds quick and i turned to Pilates and Hot Yoga. Ive lost all the weight plus more, and my ADD is has gotten so much better! My metabolism is super fast! My core is so strong and i feel my core tight and almost warm all day. my posture is great and I've definitely lost weight and continue to do so. I would definitely recommend adding a Bikram Yoga( hot yoga) to your weight loss routine. The combination of the extreme sweating and getting your heart rate up during the yoga and the strengthening of your muscles in Pilates , is enough to lose tons of weight. I used to run 3 miles a day and i was bulkier and didn't look as thin as i do now. Not only was I injuring my knees, my body was tense and my muscles were very tight. Now I'm very lean and long and very flexible. I'm toned and strong in a very different way and I love it. If you WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT, you must make your metabolism faster! The way to do this quick is STRENGTHEN YOUR CORE! Pilates baby!
